For at least five years, the researchers in this group have been involved in guiding and publishing academic and professional work involving new technologies and business models related to Digital Ledger Technologies - DLTs (such as Blockchain, the technologies that underpin the new cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum). Realizing that this new digital infrastructure has enabled the emergence of a new economy (the Tokenized Economy), with a huge impact on various economic segments, and especially on Finance, the group decided to leverage its activities (in terms of guidance, studies and research) in this new area of knowledge that we are calling “Digital Finance”. Therefore, we realized the need to broaden the horizon of knowledge in this new area, which has positive interfaces between Economics, Administration, Accounting, Design, Computer Science and Information Systems.
